For The Common Good Awards, Friday, August 16, 2019
St. Louis (July 18, 2019) – Twelve individuals, firms and community organizations will be honored for their dedication to community service at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s annual For The Common Good Awards Luncheon on Friday August 16, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton.
Honorees include: Hon. Stephen N. Limbaugh, Sr., receiving the Robert Walston Chubb Award for significant contributions to the mission of Legal Services; Marygrove receiving the Ashley Award for excellence in advocacy for children; BDO USA, LLP receiving the Hon. Richard B. Teitelman Award for outstanding volunteer service; Home Sweet Home, receiving the Edna M. Taylor Client Service Award; Dana Malkus (Saint Louis University School of Law), receiving the Melton M. Lewis Equal Justice Award; Saint Louis Crisis Nursery and Mary Sullivan-Thomas (Community Opportunities), who both will be receiving the Eddie Mae Binion Community Service Award; April Waugh (Citi) receiving the F. Wm. McCalpin Pro Bono Award; Steve Shredl (Thompson Coburn) receiving the John R. Essner Young Lawyer of the Year Award; Washington University Office of General Counsel receiving the Gerald R. Ortbals Law Practice Award for commitment to pro bono service; State Senator S. Kiki Curls and State Senator Jamilah Nasheed are each receiving the Rory Ellinger Legislative Award for contributions in promoting equal access to justice for all.
